Kiwanis Student of the Month April 2026: Kira Birman

Congratulations to Kira Birman, who has been named the Kiwanis Student of the Month for April!
Kira is especially proud of receiving the Coach’s Choice Award during her sophomore year, an honor that recognized her work ethic, sportsmanship, and positive demeanor. She also values her involvement in leadership and ASB, where she has worked to help create a positive and welcoming environment for her peers. Taking challenging classes and putting significant effort into her schoolwork is another accomplishment she takes pride in.
Kira plans to study nursing, with the goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. When reflecting on her community, she feels there is room for growth in empathy and understanding. She hopes to see more opportunities for people to connect through community events, fostering unity rather than division.
Throughout her time at Ferndale High School, Kira has been actively involved in a wide range of activities. She has participated in theatre and choir all four years and has volunteered as a mentor for youth theatre productions. She has also been involved in varsity cheer and helped lead mini cheer camp. Kira served as a student committee member on the Family Engagement Task Force, was junior class president, and currently serves as senior class president and president of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, she works at Edaleen Dairy.
Kira has also played an important role in organizing school dances, assisting with setup for Homecoming, TOLO, and Prom. Last year, she took the lead in planning Prom.
The most influential person in Kira’s life is her Grandma Lin, who continually reminds her that she is “braver than you know, smarter than you think, and stronger than you seem.”
