Procedure - Use of Tobacco
Persons who violate School Board Policy No. 5259, prohibiting the use of all tobacco products on school property shall be advised of the prohibition and asked to discontinue its use.
Notices advising district employees and patrons of this policy shall be posted in appropriate locations in all district buildings and at other district facilities as determined by the superintendent. Employee and student/parent handbooks as well as school newsletters shall include notice that using tobacco on school property is prohibited.
Employees who fail to comply with such a request shall be subject to discipline up to and including discharge.
