Procedure - School Closure
It is the general policy of the board to operate the schools during periods of adverse weather and/or heavy snow conditions. Teachers and pupils should presume that schools will operate unless otherwise notified.
The local radio stations will carry broadcasts covering school closures during periods of extreme weather, heavy snowfall, or other emergencies. The message will be carried on the early morning news programs and frequently thereafter until the regular hour for school opening.
Parents and pupils should be instructed to listen to radio broadcasts and to keep updated on road conditions.
