Hello FHS Students and Families,
In this letter, I will cover:
- The First Week of School
- Zoom Links
- Beginning of the Year Checklist
I would like to welcome you to the 20-21 school year! I hope you and your family had a restful summer and spent some quality time together during these difficult times. I miss our students immensely and wish we could be in person again. Unfortunately, we had to end the last school year abruptly and that was difficult not being able to say goodbye. But here we are and we are looking forward to starting a new school year and connecting with our students. We have been working diligently all summer to prepare for the upcoming school year amidst this global pandemic.
The First Week of School
We would like to share with you what the first week of school is going to look like. We have planned a virtual assembly and orientation for our students, staff and parents on September 2nd and 3rd to kick off the year. At these assemblies, we will connect with our students, review remote learning expectations, and go over our weekly schedules. Below you will find the assembly schedule with the Zoom links for our freshmen and upperclassmen students.
On Wednesday September 2nd and 3rd our Eagle Teachers will also be contacting their students to connect and address individual questions. On Friday September 4th, students will begin mandatory zoom meetings with all four period teachers beginning at 9am. On September 2nd, 3rd , and 8th we have also scheduled evening Parent Q & A informational Zoom meetings.

Hello Vista Students and Families:
In this email, I will cover three very important items:
- The first week of school
- Beginning of the Year Checklist
- Zoom links
First, I want to welcome you to the 20-21 school year! I hope you and your family had a restful summer, and that you spent quality time together during these difficult times. I miss seeing our students in Vista’s classrooms and hallways, and I wish we could be opening school with in-person instruction. Unfortunately, we had to end the last school year abruptly, and it was difficult not being able to say good-bye. But here we are, and we are looking forward to starting a new school year and connecting with our students. We have been working hard all summer to prepare for the upcoming school year amidst this global pandemic.
1. The First Week of School (9/2/20 – 9/4/20)
The first week of school will include a virtual morning assembly, assigned coursework and a conference with your advisory teacher.
Virtual Morning Assemblies:
Our virtual assembly will kick off the school year on Wednesday, September 2nd at 8:30 a.m. Assemblies on Thursday, September 3rd and Friday, September 4th also start at 8:30 a.m. At these assemblies, we will be covering important school information, such as meeting support staff, review remote learning expectations, and going over our weekly schedules. Below you will find the assembly schedule for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th with the Zoom links for your use.
Assigned Coursework:
- Attend morning assemblies
- Attend a conference with your advisory teacher – Teachers have contacted students and parents to schedule a time to meet via zoom. During this conference you will receive information around attendance, new learning platforms, daily schedules, lunch information and more. If you haven’t already done so, please schedule a conference with your advisory teacher via Skyward. If you are unable to attend virtually, your advisory teacher can schedule a phone conference, but you will need to reach out to let them know your availability. If you have questions email your advisory teacher.
- Tutorials for learning platforms – We have many new learning platforms. Attached to this email you will find scripted tutorials on Zoom, Edgenuity, Canvas and Skyward. Your assignment this week is to practice and become familiar with these platforms. This will be the bulk of your week.
- Read 30 minutes each day
2. Beginning of the Year Checklist
- Update your student’s Skyward information*:
- Changes to: Address, Phone Numbers, Email, Emergency Contacts
- *Our main form of communicating with families is via Robo-Calls and email through Skyward. It is essential Skyward is accurate with your student’s most current information.
