Ferndale School District Seeks Volunteers for Reopening Taskforce

Ferndale School District Logo

The Ferndale School District seeks volunteers to serve on a Reopening Task Force. The Task Force will create a local plan designed to support student learning in a manner consistent with health and safety directives from OSPI and the Department of Health.

Governor Inslee closed schools in Washington State in March. The closure extended through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal has directed school districts to plan for reopening for the 2020-2021 school year. Part of the planning process requires public input.

Task Force Meetings are planned for Tuesday’s 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM beginning on Tuesday, July 7th. The full schedule includes: July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, August 4, August 11 and August 18. The District re-opening plan must be delivered in final format to OSPI by August 19th.
