The Ferndale School District will host The Young Americans Performing Arts Workshop March 3-5 at Ferndale High School, offering a chance for participating students to sing, dance and perform with the help of the college-aged Young Americans traveling performers.
The Young Americans first visited the Ferndale School District three years ago with approximately 250 students participating. The registration-based program returns in March and is open to students grades 3-12. Participants are separated into groups based on grade to learn age-appropriate material.
Registration for the upcoming March workshop is open online and those interested can learn more about The Young Americans at www.youngamericans.org.
The workshop program begins Sunday, March 3 in the afternoon and concludes with an evening performance on Tuesday, March 5. View a full event schedule.
The cost of the workshop is $59 per participant; however scholarships are available for families to request as part of the online sign-up process.
The workshop will feature 45 traveling performers, and the performers will be hosted by local families. Those interested in hosting are asked to contact Vista Middle School teacher Frances Genger (email@example.com), local coordinator contact for the event.
Each Young Americans Signature Workshop and Performance brings an incredible combination of energy, teamwork and confidence using music as a tool. The workshop included vocal, dance and full stage performance elements.
The college-aged cast of trained performers and teachers provide a safe and exciting atmosphere to learn, create and grow. Though called the Young Americans, the group is a diverse group of students from all over the world.
