Vista administrators called police today for assistance with a student who had become physically violent with staff and at least one other student. Administrators placed the Vista campus on lockdown until the situation could be resolved.
The student in question was released to a guardian and will not return to campus until a re-entry plan is established.
“When law enforcement arrive on campus unexpectedly, it can cause students and families concern,” said Vista Middle School Principal Heather Leighton. “We reached out to families by email this afternoon to let them know that the situation on campus ended without injury to any of our staff and students. All the right things happened today. As always, I want to send my sincere thanks to our partners in the Ferndale Police Department.”
