Ferndale, WA. A Vista student was arrested by Ferndale Police and is currently in Juvenile Detention awaiting arraignment on three counts of Felony Harassment.
Those charges relate to specific threats against fellow Vista students. As is protocol, administrators immediately contacted Law Enforcement for assistance investigating the threats. As a result of that investigation, one student was identified and charged. At no point were Vista students and staff in danger in the building today.
“All the right things happened here,” said Vista Middle School Principal Heather Leighton. “We ask families and students to partner with us to report suspicious or threatening behavior. That happened in this case. Additionally, Ferndale Police helped us bring this issue to swift conclusion without incident. We are grateful for that.”
Administrators at Vista Middle School spoke with staff this afternoon. An email to Vista Middle School parents is expected to go out this evening.
