Students Appointed to School Board

Congratulations to Ferndale High School Students Taylor Lupo (grade 11) and Noah Semu (grade 10) who were selected as student school board members.

At tonight's special school board meeting, school board members interviewed six candidates for the two board positions: Taylor Lupo, Jeylan Leland, Leah Kessen, Michael Bernard, Noah Semu and Camree Krawczak. Each one of these students had strong convictions about serving their school district. They spoke passionately about their school and the greater Ferndale community.

School board members thanked each student for their willingness to step up and serve on the board. Board President Dr. Kevin Erickson added, "You all have great assets to give to Ferndale School District."

Taylor and Noah will be sworn into office at the board's next regular meeting scheduled for May 29.

The role of the student school board member is to provide a student perspective into the decision-making process at the board level. They will sit at the board table at all board meetings, participate in discussions with other school board members, and exercise non-binding (advisory) votes on matters brought before the board in open session.

Welcome, Taylor and Noah! #FerndalePride
