Substitutes are an important part of our team of dedicated educators. We employ substitutes for a variety of positions, both certificated and classified. Substituting offers the flexibility to choose when and where you want to work, and often serves as a pathway to contracted positions when they become available.

Substitute Rates 2025-2026
- Certificated Teacher – $180.00 per day
- Para Educator – $24.05 per hour
- Child Nutrition Worker – $21.73 per hour
- Administrative Assistant I - $29.22 per hour
- Administrative Assistant II - $27.22 per hour
- Nurse RN - $32.83 per hour
- Nurse LPN- $27.41 per hour
- Bus Driver – $32.98 per hour (FSD reimburses Bus Driver substitutes for costs incurred with obtaining their CDL, fingerprinting, and DOT physicals)
- Custodian – $27.97 per hour (Custodial substitutes receive 3 days of paid training)
