Kiwanis Student of the Month January 2026: Evan Saxman

Evan Saxman, a senior at Ferndale High School, has built an impressive record of involvement and achievement across academics, the arts, athletics, and community service. The district congratulates Saxman for being recognized by Ferndale Kiwanis as January’s Student of the Month!

A dedicated student-athlete, he has played soccer all four years of high school, spending the last three on varsity and earning recognition as the team’s top scorer last season. His leadership extends beyond the field. He is an active member of the FHS Theatre program, serves as president of the Theatre Club, and participates in Concert Choir as the current Publicity Director and a member of the Choir Council. He also contributes his musical talents in the Wind Ensemble. He has lettered in choir, band, theatre, and soccer.

Academically, he maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. He also supports younger students as a peer mentor to middle schoolers.

Service is a central part of his life. He volunteers at his church, where he helps lead worship and supports the media team. He is proud to contribute to his church community and values the opportunity to serve regularly.

After high school, he intends to study sports management or business administration. He plans to remain involved in both soccer and theatre and hopes to begin coaching soccer or directing theatre in the future.

The issue most important to him is strengthening student engagement at school. He is committed to building connection, increasing recognition for underrepresented activities, and helping younger students feel encouraged and involved.

Congratulations Evan for being recognized as January’s Student of the Month!
