Kiwanis Student of the Month February 2026: Anureet Garcha

Ferndale School District congratulates Anureet Garcha, a senior at Ferndale High School, for being recognized as February's Kiwanis Student of the Month. Known for her commitment to both her school and community, she has been recognized for her leadership, service, and involvement in a wide range of activities.

Throughout her time at FHS, she has been involved in the arts and student life. She participates in marching band, color guard, pit orchestra, and has taken part in organizing musical performances—most notably coordinating both band and orchestra for a concert during her junior year. She is a committed member of the Desi Club, Multicultural Club, Leadership, Peer Mentoring, and the National Honor Society.

Garcha has earned a marksmanship badge, Civil Air Patrol promotion ribbons, and recognition for her leadership and pit orchestra involvement recognizing her contributions and growth.

Her service extends beyond the high school campus. She mentors younger students at Horizon Middle School, volunteers every other Monday at Cascadia Elementary, where she has worked closely with Punjabi students. She also assisted in planning her school’s Multicultural Night and has served on multiple district committees and task forces, ensuring that student perspectives are represented at the district level.

In addition to her school and volunteer commitments, she does work for her family’s local businesses gaining valuable real‑world experience.

Her dad is the most influential person in her life. “The number one lesson my dad always tells me is to be humble. No matter what you have never flaunt your life and always appreciate what you have,” she said. The motto is what she lives by.

She plans to pursue a degree in pre‑law and political science, with the goal of becoming a corporate attorney or a lawyer in the business field. She is excited to join cultural clubs in college and remain actively engaged in her community. She also hopes to continue volunteering at local Sikh temples and participating in food, clothing, and toy drives—continuing a lifelong dedication to service.
