Thank you ferndale voters

We are thrilled to share that Prop. 1, the Educational Programs and Operations levy passed!

Thank you to the Ferndale community for supporting this measure that supports our students, schools and staff.

Message from Interim Superintendent Deebach:

Thank you to the Ferndale & Lummi community for continuing to support our children! We are grateful to the voters for renewing the support of our students by approving the Educational Programs and Operations levy. This levy will help fund the critical day-to-day operations of our district and ensure our students have access to the resources they need to succeed. The levy continues funding for academic programs, technology, student services and opportunities such as athletics, music and drama, and school staff. To learn more about the levy, visit https://bit.ly/Levy2022.

This levy is not a new tax, but renews an expiring levy that our community supported in November 2020. K-12 education is not fully funded by the state, and districts like ours rely on voter-approved levies to bridge the funding gap between what the state funds and what our schools need to operate.

I want to take a moment to thank the Ferndale School Board for their work evaluating the needs of our district. I also want to thank our families, staff and community for your continued support of our schools and our students. I am extremely proud of our students who played a big role in providing information to our community. To our community partners: Ferndale Chamber of Commerce, Ferndale City Council, Ferndale & Lummi local businesses, Lummi Indian Business Council & Lummi Nation, thank you for supporting our students and schools, your partnership to FSD is invaluable. And finally, I want to thank Support Ferndale Schools for volunteering their time to share information around the levy renewal with our community.

By approving the Educational Programs and Operations levy, you will help us continue to meet our goals to support every student.

Thank you!

Mark Deebach, Interim Superintendent
