From a pool of 16 applicants, the Ferndale School Board has selected six semi-finalists to interview for the superintendent vacancy. The group of candidates includes highly qualified individuals who come from a wide variety of districts. 

The semifinalists will each participate in a 45-minute interview with the school board on Saturday, March 19th, at Horizon Middle School, 2671 Thornton Road, Ferndale. The community is invited to watch the interviews, and provide feedback to the board on each of the candidates through forms provided. 

Semifinalists include Daniel Chaplik, Dr. Karin Dominguez, Dana Rosenbach, Paul Peterson, Heather Leighton, and Dr. John Parker. The interview schedule for March 19 is as follows:

Following the interviews, which will each begin at the top of the hour and beginning at 8:00 a.m., the board will meet in executive session to narrow the selection to three finalists. 

On March 21, 23, and 24, each finalist will spend a day in the district, meeting with various employee groups and visiting different departments and buildings. Additionally, there will be a community forum with each candidate at 6pm at Horizon Middle School. There will be opportunities to ask the candidates questions during their visits and provide feedback to the board for consideration during their final deliberations. On Friday, March 25th, the board will hold a public meeting to announce their selection.
