At the November, 29 board meeting, the Ferndale School Board announced the resignation of board member, Jessie Deardorff, in which they received in a November 20 email. Director Deardorff had held the district director 3 position since 2019.

In her correspondence to the school board and superintendent, Deardorff shared it was not an easy decision to step down but recalled the many strides forward the district has made during her tenure. “It is with great respect that I know you will find the right person, from District 3, as my replacement,” she shared. “I look forward to hearing all the great news from the school board.”

School Board President, Dr. Kevin Erickson expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the school board and their best wishes to Deardorff for her time served and dedication to FSD students, staff, and community.

The school board will be looking to fill the position in the coming weeks and details on the process will be finalized and shared with the public later this week.
