Mountainview learning center playground with soft ground cover and yellow and blue features

We are proud to announce the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Inclusive Playground at Mountain View Learning Center, taking place on Tuesday, September 23 at Mountain View. This special celebration marks the culmination of years of planning, collaboration, and community support to create a play space where all children, of all abilities, can learn, grow, and play together.

The inclusive playground was made possible through the vision and hard work of the Playground Taskforce Committee. You can view the committee’s work on our website. Their dedication helped shape a space that fosters belonging and accessibility for all.

Funding and support came from several key partners, including:

  • Whatcom Community Foundation
  • Healthy Children’s Fund
  • Cascade Dafo

Date & Time: Tuesday, September 23 | 8:30am
Location: Mountain View Learning Center

The Ferndale School District invites the community and all those who contributed to this project to attend the ribbon cutting and celebrate this achievement together.

Quote from Superintendent, Dr. Kristi Dominguez

“This inclusive playground represents our belief that every child deserves to feel a sense of belonging and joy. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our partners and the dedication of our taskforce, we now have a space where all students can play, learn, and grow together.”
