Parents and Guardians,  

Today, out of an abundance of caution, we initiated an evacuation at the high school due to a potential bomb threat. As a parent, I understand how unsettling it can be to hear news of potential threat to our children’s safety. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your care, patience, and understanding as we worked to communicate with you as quickly as possible.  If you were not getting updates or you hear of a family who was not, please check your Parent Square notifications to ensure 1. you are signed up and 2. your notifications are on.  

I cannot express enough how proud I am of our staff. Their deep commitment to knowing and caring for each student was truly essential today. In a time of uncertainty, their dedication and steady presence made all the difference, and I could not be more grateful for how they supported your children. 

 I also want to take a moment to recognize our students. They were simply amazing. They followed directions, remained respectful, and showed a willingness to engage as needed throughout the entire situation. Their cooperation and maturity were inspiring, and I’m incredibly proud of how they handled themselves in such a stressful situation. If your child would like someone to process today’s event with, we will have additional counseling support available. Please encourage them to reach out to a counselor or trusted adult.  

My heartfelt thanks also go to our first responders. Their swift action and expertise gave me peace of mind, knowing that our children and staff were in the best possible hands. They truly embodied professionalism, and their efforts today reassured us all.  As a community we are in great hands. 

When something like this happens, it reminds us of the strength of our community. It takes all of us—parents, staff, students, and first responders—working together to ensure we act quickly and effectively. Please know that we take the responsibility of caring for your children seriously, and today was a powerful demonstration of that commitment.
