Farewell Celebration Honoring Old Main

Ferndale students, staff, and families,

Please join us on Monday, December 12, from 4-6pm as we celebrate the countless memories forged in Ferndale High School’s Old Main building. This structure has stood since 1936, welcoming thousands of students, staff, and community members throughout the decades as they gave and received a quality education to generations of Ferndale, North Bellingham, Custer, Lummi Nation, and Lummi Island residents. Before we start a new era by opening our voter-approved Academic Wing of the new Ferndale High School, we want to honor the building that has served our community well for nearly a century.

This event will be an opportunity for our community to gather, reminisce about the good times, and bid farewell to the building before we turn that page, in the coming weeks. Come congregate, share memories, and buy a t-shirt commemorating Old Main. You can purchase the t-shirt ahead of the event at this link. There will also be photo opportunities and a chance to walk through Old Main one last time. 

The event will also serve as a celebration of current Ferndale High School students. Every Old Main T-shirt is also a ticket to that night’s boys basketball game vs. Meridian High School.  We hope to see a sea of navy and gold in the new gym cheering on our Golden Eagles that night.
