Congratulations to Ferndale High School's FFA Vet Science team! Last week, they earned 9th place in the United States at the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis.

Four students even won individual honors -- Audrey Bell and Zach Bytnar earned gold medals, and Amy McKay and Hope Musselwhite earned silver medals.

"Some of these kids have been working for about 4 years for this, and it came to a good conclusion," said FFA advisor and FHS vet science teacher Tony Torretta. "You get ninth place, and that's against 50 teams in the nation, and you multiply that against 30-50 FFA groups per state, and that's a pretty big number."

"Our team put forth the best effort they could, and we are very, very proud of them and their work," said sophomore Audrey Miller, a member of Ferndale's FFA vet science team.
